The social web is a set of social relations that link people through the web. The Social web encompasses how websites and software are designed and developed in order to support and foster social interaction. These online social interactions form the basis of much online activity including online shopping, education, gaming and social networking websites.

Which elements of Web 2.0 suits your needs as a student?
A blog and a wiki are the most important for my needs as a student. This is because they provide the information I might need to complete a project.

What are the disadvantages of the elements that Web 2.0 covers?
It allows for the sharing and publishing or downloading of illegal content. This led to may users being arrested.
Anyone can contribute and edit and they may lie and say the wrong thing and give wrong data.
It does not offer protection from hacking and this could lead to inaccessible data
It does not save data automatically and this could lead to loss of information.

- Social Networks: A website or app which enables the users to communicate with each other by posting information, comments, messages, images etc.
- Tagging: To add a character or a set of them to text or data in order to identify and categorize them
- Wiki: A website or database that is developed collaboratively by a community of users, allowing anyone to add or edit content about the specific subject.
